Jim Mallinder Positive About The England Trio
Jim Mallinder is the coach of Northampton Saints and he has recently put to rest the concerns that were related to the three England forwards namely- Alex Corbisiero, Courtney Lawes and Tom Wood and their respective injuries.
Courtney Lawes (Saints’ lock) and Tom Wood (Saints’ flanker) had missed the rugby match against Bath on the 27th of September, 2014. Northampton Saints won the match. While Alex Corbisiero (Saints’ pro) played this match but got injured during the game.
If the England trio is fit by the end of this year then they will participate in the November Internationals by being a part of the England rugby team.
According to Mallinder, Lawes and Corbisiero might probably become fit by 4th of October, 2014 in order to play the match against London Irish. Alex Corbisiero had missed the latter half of last year’s rugby season due to a knee injury. Corbisiero has injured his shoulder this time during the match against Bath and Mallinder is hoping that the injury is not serious. Lawes is also suffering from a shoulder injury right now.
Commenting on Tom Wood’s back injury, Mallinder said that Wood’s condition has been improving and he even took part in the training session on Wednesday and Friday. But he had a reaction because of the training. If the authorities had forced him to play in the match against Bath, he would have played but then Mallinder thought it was wrong to put pressure on Wood. Mallinder is of the opinion that in about a week or so, Wood will recover.
Jim Mallinder has surely made it clear that the injuries are not very serious and the England trio will return with a bang as their recovery process is going on very smoothly.
Northampton Saints are currently at the 2nd position at the Aviva Premiership overall standing.
